June - November 1938 Diary [Eisenhower, Dwight D.: Diaries, Diaries Files, Box 1, [DDE Diary June – Nov. 1938]; NAID #575354] This diary briefly recounts Eisenhower's trip from the Philippines to the United States to procure armaments for the Philippine military. Mamie and John S. D. Eisenhower accompanied him.
August 1938 Diary of Yellowstone Trip [Eisenhower, Dwight D.: Diaries, Diaries Files, Box 1, [DDE Diary August 1938]; NAID #575354] This diary describes a road trip from Denver, Colorado, to Yellowstone National Park taken by Dwight, Mamie, and Mamie's parents.
January - July 1942 Diary [Eisenhower, Dwight D.: Diaries, Diaries Files, Box 1, [DDE Diary Jan. 1 – July 6, 1942]; NAID #575354] This is essentially the first portion of the "Butcher Diary" from Dwight D. Eisenhower's Pre-Presidential Papers. This diary was dictated by Eisenhower himself and typed by Eisenhower's naval aide, Harry Butcher.
January 1950 - February 1952 Diary [Eisenhower, Dwight D.: Diaries, Diaries Files, Box 1, [DDE Diary Jan. 1, 1950 – Feb. 28, 1952]; NAID #575354] This diary contains extensive musings on the pressure he felt to run for president, and his reluctance to do so.
August 1953 - August 1952 Diary [Eisenhower, Dwight D.: Diaries, Diaries Files, Box 1, DDE Personal Diary Dec. 52 - - 8/19/53; NAID #575354] This diary consists of various documents filed in reverse chronological order. It begins in August, 1953, and goes back to August, 1952. It contains Eisenhower's thoughts on a number of political and philosophical issues.
1953 Desk Diary [January 5 - February 1 only] [Eisenhower, Dwight D.: Diaries, Diaries Files, Box 1, 1953 [DDE] Desk Diary; NAID #575354] This diary contains Dwight D. Eisenhower's thoughts on his first day as president and his first State of the Union address.
